Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Parthenon Frontiers
The Parthenon Frontiers and its family of journals are committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity in all stages of the scholarly publishing process. We strictly adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and promote transparency, accountability, and academic honesty in all our publications.
1. Responsibilities of Editors
-
Editorial Independence: Editors make publication decisions based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope, without any influence from financial, political, or personal interests.
-
Fair Review: Manuscripts are evaluated on intellectual content, without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religion, or institutional affiliation.
-
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential and must not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have any competing interest or personal involvement.
-
Ethical Oversight: Editors are responsible for identifying and preventing publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data manipulation, and unethical research practices.
2. Responsibilities of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality of all manuscripts and may not share or discuss their contents with others.
-
Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively and supported by clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers should complete evaluations within the stipulated time frame or inform the editor if an extension is needed.
-
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to review any manuscript where they have competing interests, relationships, or prior involvement with the research.
-
Plagiarism and Ethical Alert: Reviewers should notify the editor of any suspected plagiarism, unethical research, or data fabrication.
3. Responsibilities of Authors
-
Originality: Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original and have not been published elsewhere or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
-
Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper citation of others’ work must be provided, and all influences or sources must be acknowledged.
-
Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study should be listed as authors.
-
Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: All potential conflicts, including financial or personal relationships that could influence the work, must be disclosed.
-
Ethical Research Compliance: For studies involving human or animal subjects, authors must include statements of ethical approval from relevant committees.
-
Data Integrity: Authors must not manipulate or fabricate data. They should be prepared to share raw data if requested by the editor for verification.
-
Corrections and Retractions: If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must promptly notify the editorial office to correct or retract the article.
